The City of Waterville will be full of exciting things to do Saturday, September 12! The Waterville Fire Department will be having their 'Smoke Off' as a fundraiser for the new firehouse, the Marshall County Railroad Historical Society will be having 'Wild West Day', and there will be bicyclists riding through town for a 'Gravel Dash'.

The swimming pool is closed for repairs at this time. The city crew is working to get it up and running again by Tuesday, July 14 with a drive to Olathe for a pump. The Waterville Fire Department is beginning another Gun Raffle! This raffle will be a 30/30/30 - 30 guns in 30 minutes $30 a ticket! The drawing will take place during the 2015 Annual Fire Department Smoke Off held in September each year. A flyer for this event is found on this site under News & Information - Forms. Net proceeds will go toward the new fire house building.

In the fall of 2014 and/or 2015, the City of Waterville intends to make application to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Community Development Block Grant funding.  Grant funds, if received, could be used for community improvement projects including, but not limited to water distribution improvement, sewer system repair, street repair, and renovations to the downtown business area. If the City is able to access grant funds, these funds may allow the City to make needed community improvements without substantial increases in local taxes or water and sewer rates.
